Group Sponsors

$50,000 - $99,999

Group contributors are a very special collection of Habitat donors. These sponsors collectively impact a low income family in Sarasota County through their generous donation. This helps to fund the materials and costs of building a Habitat for Humanity home.

Sponsorship includes the following:

Acknowledgement on a sign on the home lot which remains through the build until the formal Dedication of the home

The receipt of updates on the build and on the homeowner family as they complete their educational classes and their “sweat equity” in their home.

Special acknowledgement at the Dedication of the sponsored home.

Special recognition in Habitat’s newsletter and on the website

Sponsors and Cosponsors, if they wish, can also participate as volunteers in the building of the home, which takes approximately 6 months.

Most groups prefer to proclaim ownership by investing $100,000 for house sponsorship. This, of course, entitles your group to actually participate in the house construction.

The reasons for choosing to become a house sponsor center around team-building and personal empowerment. The choice to sponsor a Habitat house is an entirely selfless act. Partner families, as well as the community benefit as follows:

An affordable house offers a deserving family in need the chance to:

dramatically improve their lives and the future of their children

offers Habitat homeowners an affordable 0% interest mortgage; instills pride of ownership

Partner families invest 300 - 500 hours of their own sweat equity

It often reduces the amount previously paid for subsisting in a substandard dwelling-easing financial burden. It represents a value to the city in terms of generating additional tax revenues.
